The Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping option helps make international deliveries smoother by covering customs duties and taxes ahead of time. When you choose DDP, these extra fees are already included in the shipping cost. This means your customers in Canada and the UK won’t have to pay anything extra when their order arrives; they’ll just get their package, hassle-free.
Where can I use the DDP option?
DDP is available for international orders going to Canada and the UK if your store uses live shipping rates.
This option works with:
- Shopify Advanced and Shopify Plus stores.
- WooCommerce stores.
- Ecwid stores with Venture, Business, or Unlimited plans.
- API-integrated stores.
How are DDP rates calculated?
The cost of DDP shipping is calculated automatically at checkout. It depends on things like:
- Order value.
- Size and weight.
- Delivery destination.
- Local customs regulations.
When your customer checks out, the full shipping price (including duties and taxes) is shown upfront. That way, there are no surprise fees later.
How do I enable live shipping rates?
Follow these steps to set up DDP:
- Go to your Dashboard.
- Click Settings.
- Select Store settings, then go to Shipping.
- Under Standard shipping, enable the Standard DDP option (separately for Canada under the USA and Canada tab and the UK under the Europe tab):
