The Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping option covers customs duties and taxes on international orders ahead of time, so the cost is already built into the shipping price at checkout. Your customers in Canada and the UK won't be charged anything extra when their package arrives, since duties and taxes are already covered.
Where can I use the DDP option?
DDP is available for international orders going to Canada and the UK if your store uses live shipping rates.
It works with:
- Shopify Advanced and Shopify Plus stores.
- WooCommerce stores.
- Ecwid stores on Venture, Business, or Unlimited plans.
- API-integrated stores.
How are DDP rates calculated?
DDP shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on:
- Order value.
- Size and weight.
- Delivery destination.
- Local customs regulations.
The full shipping price, including duties and taxes, is shown upfront at checkout, so there are no surprise fees for your customer after the order ships.
How do I enable DDP rates?
Before enabling DDP rates, make sure live shipping rates are already turned on for your store. Follow these steps:
- Go to your Dashboard.
- Click Settings.
- Select Store settings, then go to Shipping.
- Under International shipping, enable the Standard DDP option separately for Canada (under the USA and Canada tab) and the UK (under the Europe tab).
