Express shipping offers faster delivery, usually 1–3 business days after fulfillment, for eligible US domestic orders. It’s available to both Live Rates users and Shopify users using Printful shipping profiles. Here’s how it works depending on your store setup.
How can I offer Express shipping?
There are two ways to access Express shipping:
A. Live Rates users
Express shipping will appear at checkout for your customers if:
- You’re using Live Rates in your store.
- You’ve enabled Express shipping in the Printful Dashboard → Settings → Store settings → Shipping, choose your store, and enable Express under the USA & Canada section.
B. Manual orders or updated orders
Express shipping is also available when:
- You manually place an order through the Printful Dashboard.
- You update an order after it’s been placed, as long as the products and shipping address are eligible.
C. Shopify users with Flat Rates
If you’re not using Live Rates, Express is also available through an Express Flat Rate option, which is available only for Shopify stores using Printful shipping profiles.
To qualify:
- You must have enabled Express shipping in the Dashboard.
- You must push Express-eligible products to Shopify.
- You must use Printful shipping profiles, not custom ones.
Which products are eligible?
Only selected products are eligible for Express Flat rates for Shopify. You can view the full list of these products here. Orders must contain only eligible items to qualify for Express Flat rates. If an order includes a mix of eligible and non-eligible items, it will automatically default to Standard shipping.
For manual orders or live rates, more products may qualify for Express shipping. However, in these cases, rates are calculated in real time based on the package’s size and weight, so Express shipping may not always be available.
Order requirements for Express shipping
For Express shipping to apply through Printful shipping profiles, the delivery address must meet these requirements:
- U.S. destinations only.
- No PO Boxes or military addresses.
- A phone number is required.
You can make the phone number field mandatory in Shopify checkout settings.
