The standard front print area for select direct-to-garment (DTG) products is 15″ × 18″. This provides more room for your designs without any additional cost. This dimension standard replaced the legacy 12″ × 16″ area to help you create bolder, eye-catching designs while keeping your costs the same.
How do I use the larger print area?
If you sell through an integrated ecommerce store, your existing products remain unaffected. To use the larger placement for existing items, simply check the Printful catalog to see if your product size supports the 15″ × 18″ dimensions and update your print file accordingly.
What’s changing for API users?
Since May 17, 2025, the legacy placement name “front” has been discontinued in our Catalog API endpoints for new products. Here’s what that means:
- For existing products: No changes needed. They’ll still work, and any updates will automatically switch to the new “large_front” placement.
- For new products: Use the “large_front” placement name instead of “front.” You can find this placement in the Catalog API.
