Bundling is a marketing strategy where you combine two or more products into a single package deal to encourage customers to buy more and to increase your store’s average order value.
There are different types of bundles:
- Pure bundles: Only available as a set.
- Price bundles: Sold together at a reduced total cost.
- Mixed bundles: Items can be bought separately or as a discounted bundle. Using mixed bundle deals can boost profits by up to 50%.
Instead of customers purchasing each item individually, they get a discounted price when buying the bundle.
How to set up bundles in Shopify
To create bundles in Shopify with Printful, you’ll need to use a third-party Shopify app called Simple Bundles & Kits. To set this up, follow our video tutorial or the step-by-step instructions below.
Step 1. Install the app
- Log in to your Shopify account.
- Go to the App Store and install Simple Bundles & Kits.
Step 2. Choose your bundle type
After launching the app, click Build Bundle. You’ll see two options:
- Simple Bundle: Best for fixed product sets (e.g., 3-piece wall art).
- Infinite Options Bundle: Ideal for customizable bundles (e.g., clothing sets with size/color variants).
Step 3. Create a Simple Bundle or an Infinite Options Bundle
To create a Simple Bundle in the app:
- Click Simple Bundle → Create new bundle product.
- Add a Title, optional discount, and set the product status to Active.
- Click Add Products and select the items you want to include.
- Leave quantity at 1 (or adjust as needed), then Save and Continue.
- Review pricing and click Save.
- Go to your Shopify Products list, open the bundle, scroll to Inventory, and uncheck Track quantity.
- Click Save.
To create an Infinite Options Bundle in the app:
- In the app, click Build Bundle → choose Infinite Options Bundle.
- Click Create New Bundle, enter product details, set status to Active, and set your bundle price.
- Under Products, click Add Products and choose each item.
- Rename dropdown titles (e.g., “Sports Bra Size”, “Leggings Size”).
- Click Save.
Step 4. Add product mockups
- Create a clean product image that shows all bundle items together:
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Stores → select your store.
- Click the three-dot menu next to a product and choose Download Mockups.
- Combine mockups into one image.
- In your Shopify dashboard, go to Products, select the bundle set, and upload the combined product image under Media.
- Click Save.
Step 5: Test your bundle
Make a test purchase to ensure that everything is looking and working as expected.
Plan management
By default, the app starts on the Free Plan. To view or upgrade:
- Open the Simple Bundles & Kits app in Shopify.
- Go to App Settings → scroll to Plans to review your options.
