Etsy is an excellent platform for new online sellers, especially when integrated with Print on Demand (POD). By connecting your Etsy store to your Printful account, you can sell custom products without worrying about inventory, shipping, or upfront expenses. This guide will detail the steps to link your Etsy store to Printful, add your first products, and configure crucial settings for shipping and personalization.
Create your Printful account
Begin by creating a Printful account.:
- Go to the Sign up page.
- Fill in your information and confirm your email.
- Complete the onboarding steps in your Dashboard.
Open your Etsy shop
To sell on Etsy, you’ll need an Etsy account and an open shop.
- Sign up at etsy.com.
- After registering, click your profile picture and select Sell on Etsy.
- Follow the steps to open your shop.
Connect Etsy to Printful
- In your Dashboard, go to Stores → Choose platform → Etsy.
- Click Connect to Etsy.
- Allow access when Etsy prompts you.
Add Printful products to Etsy
Now you can start adding your products. Depending on your Dashboard view, there are two ways to do this:
Option 1:
- Go to Stores in your Dashboard.
- Select your Etsy store.
- Click Add product.
Option 2:
- Go to My products in your Dashboard.
- Open the Published tab.
- Select your Etsy store.
- Click Create product.
Once you’ve selected your store, follow these steps:
- Choose your product and create your design in the Design Maker.
- Select your mockup style (e.g., flat, lifestyle).
- Edit the product name, description, and tags to fit your brand.
- Set your pricing and profit margin.
Shipping settings
When you publish a product to Etsy, Printful’s shipping rates and profiles apply automatically. You can manage these under Shop manager → Settings → Shipping settings on Etsy.
If you want to offer free shipping, enable it in Printful’s Pricing settings before submitting the product to Etsy. The free shipping option will carry over automatically.
Publishing products on Etsy
Products you push to Etsy will first appear as Drafts:
- Go to Shop manager → Listings → Drafts.
- Open the listing, confirm that Printful is added as your production partner.
- Check shipping settings.
- Click Publish.
