Setting up your shipping in Squarespace is a key step in launching your store—and it’s easier than it seems. Whether you’re offering flat-rate, weight-based, or free shipping, this guide will help you align your Squarespace setup with Printful’s shipping rates.
Understand how Printful shipping works
Before configuring anything in Squarespace, visit Printful’s Shipping page to check your product’s shipping rates. These are the rates Printful will charge you based on:
- Product category (e.g., t-shirts, hoodies)
- Shipping destination (e.g., USA, Europe)
For example, shipping one hoodie in the US might cost $8.49 for the first item and $2.50 for each additional item.
Setting up shipping in Squarespace
- In your Squarespace Dashboard, go to Commerce → Shipping
- Click Add shipping option and select Flat rate
Now you’ll need to set your customer-facing shipping prices.
Flat-rate shipping
This method is best if you’re selling similar product types (like just t-shirts or sweatshirts).
- Give your shipping rate a name (e.g. “Standard US Shipping”)
- Use Printful’s rate table to set:
- Per order fee (e.g. $4.69 for a single t-shirt)
- Per item fee for additional products (e.g. $2.20 per extra t-shirt)
- Go to the Shipping Zones tab
- Type in the country you want to sell to (e.g. “United States”) and click Save
- Repeat for each region you plan to sell in
Free shipping
Want to attract more customers? Set shipping prices to $0 and adjust your product prices to include the cost. For example:
- Hoodie base price = $26.00
- Printful shipping = $8.49
- Retail price in Squarespace = $34.49
- Set shipping option to “Free shipping” and enter $0 as the cost
This strategy keeps things simple for your customers, and you cover your costs upfront.
Average-cost shipping
- Set a general flat rate based on your average Printful shipping fee
- Slightly increase product prices to offset any differences
Weight-based shipping
For stores with a wide range of product sizes and weights (e.g. t-shirts and posters), this gives you more control. To set it up:
- Create shipping tiers in Squarespace that match Printful’s rates
- e.g. 0–0.5 lb = $4.69, 0.51–1 lb = $6.89
- Assign approximate weight values to each product
- e.g. 1 t-shirt = 0.5 lb
- Save your settings
This setup lets you charge based on order weight during checkout.
Final tip
Shipping profiles in Squarespace apply to countries/regions, not specific products. Plan your pricing accordingly, especially if you’re mixing Printful and non-Printful items.
