If your order is fulfilled at our Japanese facility and shipped to a Japanese address, a 10% consumption tax is added at checkout. This is required by Japanese tax law and applies to all domestic transactions within the country.
When is the consumption tax charged?
Consumption tax applies specifically to orders that meet both of these criteria:
- The order is fulfilled in Japan.
- The delivery address is in Japan.
The current tax rate is 10%, and it is calculated using the following formula:
(Product price + shipping + digitization) × 10%
When is consumption tax not charged?
We do not charge consumption tax if your order is fulfilled outside of Japan, even if it is being shipped to a Japanese address. However, please keep in mind that your customers may still be responsible for customs duties when the package arrives in Japan.
