Printful is registered as a taxpayer in Japan and it requires us to charge Japanese consumption tax for all domestic orders fulfilled in Japan.
As of February 21, 2022, we’re required to collect a 10% consumption tax on all orders fulfilled in our Japan partner facility with a delivery address in Japan.
The formula we use to calculate Japanese consumption tax is (Printful product price + shipping + digitization)*10%.
We won’t charge consumption tax for orders fulfilled outside Japan and shipped to Japan, however, your customers may be charged customs duties.
