If your order is fulfilled in Japan and shipped to a Japanese address, you’ll see a 10% consumption tax added at checkout. This is required by Japanese tax law and applies to all domestic orders within the country.
When is the consumption tax charged?
It applies to:
- Orders fulfilled in Japan and
- With a delivery address in Japan
The tax rate is 10%, and it’s calculated using this formula:
(Product price + shipping + digitization) × 10%
When is consumption tax not charged?
We don’t charge consumption tax if:
- Your order is fulfilled outside of Japan, even if it’s shipped to a Japanese address
