Premium Images in the Design Maker are high-quality graphics and photos you can add to your custom products. These images are specially licensed and come with an extra fee when used in your designs. In this article, we’ll explain how pricing for Premium Images works and what to expect in terms of file access and usage restrictions.
How does pricing for Premium Images work?
There’s an additional cost for every Premium Image placement on a product. Here’s how it works:
Cost of Premium Images
Each Premium Image costs 1 USD plus tax per image, per placement. For example:
- A t-shirt order with one Premium Images file placed on one sleeve will cost you 1 USD plus tax.
- A t-shirt order with one Premium Images file placed on both sleeves will cost you 2 USD plus tax.
- A t-shirt order with two Premium Images files placed on one sleeve each will cost you 2 USD plus tax.
This cost is added to your product, fulfillment, and shipping fees. You won’t be charged for creating or publishing a product with Premium Images—the charge only applies when the order is placed.
Currency and conversions
If your store uses a currency other than USD, the fee for Premium Images is automatically converted to your store’s currency based on the current exchange rate.
Tax details
Taxes depend on where the order is shipped. For example, if a product with one Premium Image is shipped to a customer in California, you’ll be charged $1 USD plus applicable sales tax. If you have a valid resale certificate in that state, the tax won’t be applied.
Can I download print files that include Premium Images?
No, print files that include Premium Images can’t be downloaded.
All Premium Images are licensed for use only on products that are made and fulfilled through Printful. This helps protect the artists’ work and ensures it’s not used outside the platform.
