How do I submit my tax form for Quick Stores payouts?
To receive Quick Stores payouts, submit your tax and legal information in your Printful Dashboard under Billing → Quick Stores, then complete Stripe onboarding. If you're a U.S. taxpayer, you'll also need to upload a signed W-9 form. If you're a California resident and you provide services in California, you'll also need to upload Form 590. Without an approved W-9, your Quick Stores payouts may be subject to 24% backup withholding.
Where to submit your tax form
- Go to your Printful Dashboard → Billing → Quick Stores.
- Click Set up payouts or Edit tax & legal info.
- First, fill out your tax and legal information (used by Printful), then click Confirm.
- If you're a sole proprietor with no registered business name, select an individual or sole proprietorship. The Company field only appears when you select registered business.
- If your full legal name is longer than 35 characters, select registered business and enter the full name in the Company name field.
- Click Add information and enter your details again (used by Stripe).
- Enter a statement descriptor. This is the business name your customers see on their card statements. It must:
- Contain only Latin characters.
- Be between 5 and 22 characters. A shortened version is limited to 10 characters.
- Not contain these characters: < > \ ' " *
- Reflect your DBA name, website URL, or legal entity name.
- If you're a U.S. taxpayer, go to the Tax section, click Download form next to Form W-9, then fill out and sign it. You can:
- Print it, sign it by hand, and scan or photograph it.
- Sign it digitally with a timestamp using DocuSign, Adobe Sign, signNow, PandaDoc, or similar software.
- Click Upload signed form next to Form W-9 and upload your signed form. Accepted formats are PDF, JPEG, JPG, and PNG.
What happens after I submit my Quick Stores tax form?
Printful verifies your W-9 within 3 business days. If it's approved, a verification checkmark appears next to the form. You'll also get a confirmation email telling you whether the form was approved or declined.
If your form is declined, the Billing → Quick Stores page shows a red banner and a Declined label next to Form W-9. Hover over the label to see the reason. The reason will also be listed in the email response.
The most common reasons for a declined W-9 form:
- Invalid signature.
- The legal information in your Printful account doesn't match the information on the document.
- The entity type selected on the form doesn't match the one selected in your Printful account.
Why doesn't my Quick Stores tax and legal information match Stripe's records?
The most common causes are:
- Legal name: The name differs between Printful and Stripe.
- Address: The address differs. Stripe doesn't accept P.O. boxes. Use a physical address with the street, apartment or suite number (if applicable), city, state, and ZIP code.
- Business type: The type differs, for example individual in Printful but company in Stripe.
How do I correct my Quick Stores tax and legal information?
To correct your EIN, SSN, or legal name after you've submitted or been approved, go to Billing → Quick Stores and click Edit tax & legal info. A new form is generated, and the approved one is removed. You'll need to resubmit the new form.
You can access and edit the legal information you provided to Stripe through Billing → Quick Stores → Edit tax & legal info and proceed to Step 2. Compare the legal information and fix the discrepancy.
