How do I submit a resale certificate or tax exemption certificate?
If you resell Printful products, you can avoid paying sales tax on your orders by submitting a valid resale certificate (also called a tax exemption certificate) through your Printful Dashboard. Without an approved resale certificate, Printful is legally required to charge and remit sales tax on your orders. This guide explains what you need, which form to use for your state, and how to fill it out.

What do I need before submitting a resale certificate?
To get a resale certificate, you first need an active seller’s permit (also called a sales tax permit) in each state where you want the exemption. Here’s how to register:
Before you submit your certificate, also make sure that:
- Your legal name and address are added in your Printful Dashboard → Billing → Legal info. The name on your certificate must match this exactly.
- Your seller’s permit is active and verifiable.
How do I submit a resale certificate on Printful?
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Billing → Tax information → Resale certificate.
- In the top right corner, click Add certificate.
