Sample orders let you try out Printful products with your own designs, at a 20% discount. They’re perfect for checking print quality, testing new products, and creating unique content like mockup photos or giveaway items for your social media campaigns.
Who can use sample orders?
Sample orders are available to ecommerce store owners with connected stores. If your store isn’t connected to your Printful account, you won’t see the sample order option. Once you connect a store, sample orders will become available starting the next month. Keep in mind that these orders are not intended for resale.
You’ll find your current sample order limit under the Billing → Discounts section in your Dashboard.
How many sample orders can I place?
Every customer starts with:
- 1 sample order per month.
- Up to 3 items per order.
As your store grows, your sample allowance grows too:

| USD 500 | +1 sample order |
| USD 1,500 | Max of 5 sample orders per month |
Your monthly accumulated sales are calculated using this formula:
Total order amount − discounts − shipping − tax/VAT + digitization fees + Printful services (e.g., warehousing, photography)
Sample order limits reset at the start of each calendar month.
How can I submit a sample order?
Sample orders can be placed from the New order button on the upper right corner of your Dashboard. Click the button, select the store from which you want to order the product, and choose Test your design option:
Things to keep in mind
- Customs fees are based on the retail price you set during the order process. To minimize fees, adjust the retail price to match Printful’s base price during the first step.
- You can only use up to 3 shipping addresses for all sample orders. This helps prevent misuse.
- Certain wall art sizes are restricted:
- Only Framed Posters (8″ × 10″) and Canvas (12″ × 12″) are available for samples.
- Posters without frames are available in all sizes.
- Sample order discounts can’t be combined with Printful Growth plan discounts, coupon codes, or gift cards.
- Abusing the sample program (like creating multiple accounts) may result in account deletion.
- We calculate sample order allowances automatically on the 1st day of every month based on the UTC time zone. If you're located in a different time zone, be sure to take this into account.
