To maintain pricing and enhance product quality, we’ve updated the fabrics used in select all-over print (AOP) products at our Tijuana, Mexico facility, which fulfills US orders for these items. For now, the fabrics used for these products in our Latvia facility remain unchanged.
This change was driven by new tariffs on fabrics sourced from China. To avoid price increases, we’ve switched to locally sourced fabrics from Mexico. The new fabrics also offer better durability, sustainability, and supply chain reliability.

- Pocket leggings and bikini fabric products: mid October, 2025
- Button shirt fabric products: November 3, 2025
How is the new fabric different?
Composition:
- Leggings: Now 75% recycled polyester and 25% elastane (was 82% polyester / 18% elastane)
- Pocket leggings: Now 75% recycled polyester and 25% elastane (was 74% recycled polyester / 26% elastane)
- Bikinis: Now 75% recycled polyester and 25% elastane (was 81% recycled polyester / 19% elastane)
- Button shirt fabric products: Now 100% recycled polyester (was 65% recycled polyester / 35% polyester)
Fabric weight:
- Practically the same in leggings (225gsm vs. 230gsm)
- Slightly lighter in pocket leggings, fabric feels the same (225gsm vs. 250gsm)
- Slightly lighter in bikinis, the new fabric feels a bit thicker (225gsm vs. 255gsm)
- Slightly heavier than the previous button shirt fabric, the new material feels a bit thicker (110 gsm vs. 100 gsm).
Feel and stretch:
-
Leggings:
- The new fabric no longer has the ultra-soft “peachy” feel of the previous version.
- While it’s still soft and comfortable, it’s more structured and compressive.
- To maintain a consistent fit, we’ve adjusted the product constructions to account for the fabric’s reduced stretch.
- This upgrade also improves shape retention and makes the fabric more resistant to pilling and snagging.
-
Pocket leggings:
Feel and stretch are nearly identical to before, so most customers won’t notice a change. -
Bikinis:
The new fabric is slightly less silky smooth but more compressive, offering a more secure fit and improved print clarity (less stretch = less fade). - Button shirt fabric products: The new fabric is slightly thicker, but not significantly so.
Durability improvements:
- Pilling resistance: All fabrics are more resistant to pilling.
- Snagging resistance: Improved for leggings; similar for others.
- Shape retention: Improved in leggings; unchanged in pocket leggings, bikinis, and button shirt fabric products.
Sustainability:
- Leggings fabric products: Now made with recycled polyester instead of virgin polyester.
Print areas:
- No changes. Your designs will print the same, so no need to update your print files.
FAQs
Why was the notice so short?
Due to urgent tariff changes, we had to move quickly to avoid raising product prices. While the timeframe was shorter than usual, this decision helps maintain affordability and long-term reliability.
Will my products look or feel different?
You might notice a slightly more structured feel in leggings and bikinis, but overall, the look and fit remain consistent. The main improvements are in durability.
Will there be more fabric changes in the future?
We’re always working to improve sustainability and product performance. Any future updates will be made with the same focus on quality and transparency.
