Printful will apply a VAT charge for orders that are fulfilled in any Printful location with a delivery address in the European Union.
Here's how VAT is applied if your order is fulfilled in the EU and has a delivery address in the EU:
- If you aren't registered as a VAT payer, the destination country's VAT rate is charged. You can find EU countries' standard VAT rates here.
- If you're registered as a VAT payer in Latvia:
- and the order is fulfilled in Latvia, Latvia's VAT rate is applied.
- and the order is fulfilled in Spain + the delivery address is in Spain, Spain's VAT rate is charged.
- and the order is fulfilled in Spain + shipped outside the country, 0% VAT is charged.
- If you're registered as a VAT payer in Spain:
- and the order is fulfilled in Spain, Spain's VAT rate is applied.
- and the order is fulfilled in Latvia + the delivery address is in Latvia, Latvia's VAT rate is charged.
- and the order is fulfilled in Latvia + shipped outside the country, 0% VAT is charged.
- If you're registered as a VAT payer in an EU country that's not Latvia or Spain, 0% VAT charge is applied. The only exception is if the order is fulfilled in Latvia or Spain and shipped to Latvia or Spain. In that case, either Latvia's or Spain's VAT rate is charged.
Here's how VAT is applied if your order is fulfilled in the US or other country outside the EU and has a delivery address in the EU:
- If you aren't registered as a VAT payer and the price of the products in your Printful order is above €150 (approx. $183), 0% VAT charge is applied. If the price is below this threshold, the destination country's VAT rate applies. You can find EU countries' standard VAT rates here.
- If you're registered as a VAT payer in any country, you won't be charged VAT.
We calculate VAT with the following formula: (Printful product price + shipping + services - discounts)*VAT rate %
The exact VAT rate depends on whether you're a registered VAT payer, where you're registered as a VAT payer, where Printful is registered, and where the order is shipped.
