When an order is shipped, Printful automatically sends the tracking information to your WooCommerce store. This information is added as a customer-visible order note in the order details.
What your customers see by default
While the tracking note is technically set to be visible to customers, whether it’s actually shown in the order confirmation emails or the My Account → Orders page depends on your WooCommerce theme and email template settings. Many themes or email setups don’t display order notes, so your customers might not see the tracking details unless you take extra steps.
How to make tracking info visible
To ensure tracking information is displayed clearly and consistently, we recommend using a shipment tracking plugin:
- Go to Plugins → Add New in your WordPress dashboard
- Search for “WooCommerce shipment tracking” or “order tracking”
- Choose a plugin that:
- Let’s you input or use tracking from order notes
- Adds tracking links to customer emails
- Displays carrier and tracking numbers on order pages
Printful automatically adds tracking info (carrier and tracking number) to the order note at shipment.
However, WooCommerce may not display these notes unless your theme or plugin supports it.
Installing a tracking plugin ensures customers see tracking information in emails and on the storefront, even if your theme or WooCommerce setup doesn’t support note display by default.
