Creating multiple listings for similar products can save time, but with eBay and Printful, there are a few rules you need to know. eBay has its own duplicate listing policy, and each product variant you publish from Printful to eBay gets its own unique SKU (stock keeping unit), so you can’t simply copy and paste a listing without making changes. Here’s how it works.
Duplicating directly on eBay
You can’t duplicate your eBay products or variants by reusing the same listing. eBay’s duplicate listing policy doesn’t allow identical fixed-price listings from the same seller, and SKUs must be unique for tracking purposes. If you try to copy an existing eBay listing without changing the SKU or product details, eBay will treat it as a duplicate and may remove it.
Why SKUs matter
When you publish a product from Printful to eBay, the integration assigns a unique SKU to each product variant in your eBay store.
This SKU is used by eBay to identify the product variant, track quantity, and match orders to the correct listing. If you duplicate a listing using the same SKU, eBay will recognize it as the same product, and the listing won’t work as intended.
How to create similar products
You can create a copy of a product in Printful to speed up your workflow. This is useful if you want to:
- Offer the same product in different colors or sizes
- Add a new design to an existing product style
- Create listings with similar variables, like branding options
When you duplicate a product in Printful, you can edit the copy, make your changes, and publish it as a new listing with a different SKU. This way, the listing is unique and allowed on eBay.
