The print-on-demand (POD) business model means we only produce products once an order is placed. That means we don’t keep large amounts of stock, especially for items that don’t sell well or are prone to quality issues. We periodically review our product catalog and may discontinue certain products to ensure smooth operations.
Common reasons for discontinuation
Products may be discontinued for several reasons, including:
- The variants are slow-selling or unpopular
- The product has a high damage or return rate
- Our suppliers stop offering the product
- Stock availability from our suppliers is inconsistent
By removing these products, we create room for better options, like new products that could turn into your next bestsellers.
What should I do when I get a discontinuation notice?
If one of your products is being discontinued, you’ll get an advance notice in your email and Dashboard. During this time, we recommend:
- Removing the affected product variants from your store
- Browsing the Product catalog to find similar alternatives
- Updating your listings with the new products
This helps prevent confusion for your customers and keeps your store running without interruptions.
What if an order includes a discontinued product?
If an order is imported with a discontinued product, you have two options:
- To cancel the order: Simply delete the order in your Dashboard. We haven’t charged you yet, so there’s no need to request a refund. Then, refund your customer directly through your store platform.
- To change the product: Edit the order in your Dashboard. First, delete the discontinued product from the order. Then, add a replacement product of your choice and complete the order.
Can I remove all discontinued product variants at once?
Yes! If you’re using Shopify or WooCommerce, you can bulk delete all discontinued variants.
- Go to your Dashboard.
- Click Stores and select your store (or click on My products → Published).
- Navigate to the Discontinued tab.
- Click the three dots (⋮) on the right.
- Select Delete all discontinued variants.
