Why use inside labels?
Elevate your brand and give your products a polished, professional look with inside labels. For just $0.99 per label, you can print your logo and custom design directly inside the garment, leaving a lasting impression on your customers.
Where is the label printed, and how big is it?
Inside labels are printed on the inside of the garment, usually just below the collar. The maximum print area is 3″ × 3″.
What information needs to be included?
Your inside label must include legally required garment specs. You don’t need to add them manually; they’re automatically included in the label templates based on the ordered product variant.
Each inside label includes:
- Country of origin
- Garment size
- Material information
You can only customize your logo or brand design. The rest is handled automatically and adjusts to the specific product and size your customer orders.
Where to find the inside label templates
- Open the product in Design Maker.
- Click Inside label in the top toolbar.
- In the Layers panel, you’ll see several ready-to-use templates.
- Choose a template and add your logo or custom design.
How color groups work in the Design Maker
The Design Maker organizes products into three color categories to ensure your design has enough contrast when printed on different product colors.
- Dark – for black, navy, dark green, and gray
- Bright – for bold colors like orange and mustard
- Light – for soft shades like white, mint, and light gray
Each group features a unique label template. Once you’ve customized one group, you can use the Copy designs to function to apply your label to the remaining two. Built-in contrast checks will alert you if your design lacks sufficient visibility, requiring adjustments before proceeding.
Design tips and limitations
Here are some key things to keep in mind:
- Product availability: Inside label customization is only available for products that support it, like DTG, DTFlex, embroidery, and all-over print items.
- File format: Submit files in PNG format, with transparent backgrounds.
- Color and resolution: Use RGB, at actual size, with at least 150 DPI.
- Fonts: Convert text to outlines and use a minimum 10 pt size for readability.
- Language: Labels should be in English to ensure clarity for most customers.
- Avoid white-on-white designs: White ink on white backgrounds won’t print correctly.
- Don’t include garment specs in your design: These are added automatically and don’t need to be part of your artwork.
Can I add extra details?
Yes! You can include care instructions to help customers keep their products looking great. You’ll find care instructions on the product’s page under the Description tab or in the Help Center.
What about cut & sew products?
Cut & sew items come with a sewn-in label. These labels are handled differently and don’t require product specs. However, if you’re designing one, your file must include a colored background.
