ShipStation lets you sync orders from ecommerce platforms and marketplaces (sales channels) that don’t have a direct integration with Printful, such as Walmart or Yahoo. By connecting ShipStation with Printful, you can manage fulfillment smoothly and keep your operations centralized when selling through multiple channels.
How do I connect the platforms?
Before you connect ShipStation to Printful, you should connect your sales channel (where you receive orders) to the ShipStation app. This lets you forward orders from your sales channel to ShipStation, then they will be imported to Printful from there.
Step 1: Generate your API keys in ShipStation
- In the ShipStation interface, click the Settings icon → Account → API Settings.
- Select the V1 API version and click Generate API Key. Copy the API Key and API Secret.
Step 2: Connect ShipStation to Printful
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Stores → Choose platform → select ShipStation.
- Scroll down, paste the API Key and API Secret, and click Connect.
How do I sync products?
Unlike other integrations, you can’t push products from Printful to ShipStation or import existing products manually. Instead, product syncing happens when orders are imported from ShipStation to Printful.
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Settings → Store settings → Orders, and make sure the Import unsynced orders toggle is checked.
- When the first order for a new product comes in, it will import with the status “Not Synced.”
- Go to your Printful Dashboard → Orders → click the order → click Complete order → click Sync product.
- Select the product from the Printful catalog and upload your design.
- Once a product variant is synced, all future orders with it will be processed automatically.
How do I set up shipping?
If you’ve connected ShipStation to another sales channel (like Walmart), your customers will be charged for products and shipping directly on that platform.
To make sure your buyers are charged correctly:
- Consult the resources of the sales channel you’ve connected to ShipStation to learn how to set up shipping fees for your customers.
- Set up shipping fees in your sales channel using Printful’s shipping rates as reference, or offer free shipping and include the shipping fees in your retail price.
