If you’re a registered VAT payer, submitting your VAT ID helps ensure VAT is applied correctly to your orders. The process varies depending on the country where you’re registered.

Submitting your EU or UK VAT ID
- Register as a VAT payer in your country.
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Billing → Tax information → EU and UK VAT.
- Click Add VAT ID.
- Enter your country and VAT ID.
- Upload your VAT certificate. If your country doesn’t issue VAT certificates, you can submit an invoice issued to you that includes your business name and VAT ID.
After submission, we’ll review your information and notify you by email whether your VAT ID has been approved.
If you have both EU and UK VAT IDs, you can submit your second VAT ID and VAT certificate by emailing taxexemptions@printful.com.
Submitting your Norway VAT ID
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Billing → Tax information → Norway VAT.
- Click Add VAT ID.
- Enter your name, address, and VAT ID.
- Upload your VAT certificate proving your registration as a VAT payer in Norway.
Submitting your Switzerland or Liechtenstein VAT ID
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Billing → Tax information → Switzerland VAT.
- Enter your Switzerland or Liechtenstein VAT ID number.
- Click Submit.
No additional tax documents are required. Once submitted, your VAT ID will be added to your invoices for orders going to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
What happens after submission?
- If approved: VAT will be applied based on where your order is fulfilled and where you’re registered as a VAT payer.
- If rejected: You can try submitting your VAT ID again. You will see the reason why your VAT ID is rejected from the respective VAT ID section of your Billing → Tax information. Until it’s approved, VAT will be charged on all orders going to EU member states.
