Connecting your Ecwid store with Printful is quick and simple. You’ll be able to add custom products, sync them to your Ecwid storefront, and let us handle the printing and shipping. Below is a step-by-step guide to get started.
Step-by-step: Connect Ecwid with Printful
1. Create accounts on both platforms
First, sign up for a free Printful account if you haven’t already. Then do the same on Ecwid by Lightspeed. Make sure you complete both registrations so you’re ready to connect them.
2. Check your Ecwid plan
You need to be on the Venture, Business, or Unlimited plan to use Printful with Ecwid. The free Starter plan doesn’t support third-party app integrations like Printful.
3. Install the Printful App in Ecwid
- In your Printful Dashboard, go to Stores and click Choose Platform.
- Select Ecwid by Lightspeed.
- You’ll be taken to the Ecwid App Market; click Install on the Printful app.
Log in to your Printful account and approve the connection.
That’s it! Your store is now connected.
Handle Ecwid demo products
When you connect for the first time, you may see some sample/demo products in your Printful Dashboard. These are added automatically by Ecwid to help you preview your storefront.
- You can ignore them by checking the box next to the product and selecting “Ignore” in the Printful app.
- You can also ignore any other products that you don’t plan to fulfill through Printful.
Start adding Printful products
With the connection in place, use the product push feature in Printful to create and sync your products to Ecwid.
- Choose a product (like a t-shirt), select sizes, colors, and a print method (like DTG or embroidery).
- Use the Design Maker to add your artwork, text, or use clipart.
- Select mockup styles and customize your product title and description.
- Set your retail price and profit margin before publishing it to your Ecwid store.
- You’ll be able to see the product live in your Ecwid storefront once it’s synced.
Set up shipping
You can use either:
- Flat rates you calculate and enter manually, or
- Live shipping rates, calculated by Printful based on product weight and delivery destination.
To enable live rates:
- Go to your Ecwid Dashboard → Catalog → Printful app → Settings → Shipping.
- Enable Printful’s live shipping rates for Ecwid.
