We use a smart system to route each order in the most efficient way possible, so things run smoothly for both you and your customers. Since orders are automatically routed, you can’t manually choose a fulfillment center.
How the fulfillment center is selected
When an order is being submitted, our routing algorithm looks at a few key factors, like:
- Your customer’s shipping address.
- Where the product is in stock.
- Where the product customization technique is available.
- Overall capacity at each facility.
Most of the time, your order will be fulfilled at the center closest to your customer. But if a product isn’t available at that location, or there’s an unexpected surge in demand, we may send it to a different facility. You can see where products are available by opening the product in the catalog and checking the Availability tab.
Using backup facilities to avoid delays
When we use backup facilities, we make sure they meet our quality and speed standards. They’re tested to ensure your orders are in good hands.
If you’d prefer not to use backup facilities, you can opt out anytime in your Dashboard → Settings → Store settings → Orders → Order fulfillment centers, then update your preferences.
