The moment you connect your Etsy store to Printful, Printful's flat shipping rates are automatically pushed to your products.
Printful's rates won't match Etsy's shipping rates in cases when orders on Etsy's side contain Printful items that ship separately.
To calculate the shipping cost for orders with products that ship separately, Printful adds the shipping price from the First product row of all items (see the rates here).
Here's how much Printful charges to ship a t-shirt, mug, and stickers to the US:
$3.99 + $6.99 + $3.25 = $14.23
(First product shipping cost for a t-shirt + First product shipping cost for a mug + First product shipping cost for stickers)
Etsy uses the same Printful shipping prices but doesn't have information from Printful about which products ship separately. Etsy takes the base shipping price from the product with the highest shipping cost in the First product row. Then, to cover the additional item's shipping cost, it adds that product's shipping cost from the Additional product row.
Here's how much it costs to ship a t-shirt, mug, and stickers to the US with Etsy's shipping algorithm:
$1.25 + $6.99 + $0.05 = $8.29
(Additional product shipping cost for a t-shirt + First product shipping cost for a mug + Additional product shipping cost for stickers)
Printful will charge you the shipping costs accordingly to its calculations. To avoid losing on shipping costs on Etsy and Printful for products that ship separately, we recommend you review your product pricing and adjust it to cover the shipping cost difference.
Products that ship separately are mugs, framed posters, posters, canvas, stickers, bean bags, backpacks, pillows with stuffing, and snapback hats.
