There’s no monthly or subscription fee to sell on Etsy. However, there are a few costs you should keep in mind when opening and running your shop.
One-time shop set-up fee
When opening your Etsy shop, you may be required to pay a one-time, non-refundable set-up fee. This fee depends on your location and may be waived during special promotions.
Listing fee – $0.20 per listing
- Etsy charges $0.20 USD for each new listing you publish.
- Listings stay active for 4 months. After that, they’ll need to be renewed - renewing a listing also costs $0.20 USD.
- If your listing sells more than one item in a single order, Etsy charges $0.20 for each additional item sold..
Transaction fee – 6.5%
Etsy collects a 6.5% fee from the total order amount each time you make a sale. This fee applies to:
- The item price
- Shipping costs
- Any additional services, like personalization or gift wrapping
Payment processing fee
Etsy also charges a payment processing fee through Etsy Payments. This fee depends on your location. For example, in the US, the fee is typically 3% + $0.25 per transaction. Processing fees may differ outside the US.
Currency conversion fee – 2.5%
If your shop’s currency differs from your bank’s, Etsy applies a 2.5% currency conversion fee when transferring funds.
Important to remember for Print on Demand sellers
Printful often displays a quantity of 999 for your listings. It’s important to note that Etsy charges a $0.20 fee for every additional sale from a single listing, not just upon its initial creation. If a portion of your listing’s quantity is sold but some remains, the listing will automatically renew, and you will be charged the renewal fee while the listing stays active in your shop.
