Made-to-Order is a TikTok Shop listing option that gives you 3 to 14 business days of handling time instead of the standard 2-day dispatch requirement. It's built for print-on-demand products that need longer production time, so your orders aren't held to a timeframe that doesn't match how they're made.
Access is granted at the shop level once your TikTok Shop store is connected to Printful, but it isn't applied to your products automatically. You need to activate it on each listing.
How do I get access to Made-to-Order on TikTok Shop?
Made-to-Order access is granted automatically when you connect your TikTok Shop store to Printful, as long as your TikTok Shop account meets the eligibility requirements below.
TikTok Made-to-Order eligibility requirements
To become and stay eligible, your TikTok Shop account needs to stay in good standing in three areas:
- Seller performance: Your Shop Performance Score (SPS) needs to stay at 3.5 or higher. If you don't have an SPS yet, you qualify as long as you have fewer than 3 policy violations in the last 30 days.
- Account health: Your Account Health Rating (AHR) needs to stay above 150.
- Risk status: Your account can't be flagged as High Risk.
If your account drops below any of these thresholds, you'll lose your place on the eligible seller list, the ability to upload new print-on-demand products, and access to Made-to-Order. Your existing print-on-demand inventory will be set to 0, which means products stay listed but can't be purchased.
Access is restored automatically once your metrics rise back above the thresholds. There's nothing to submit or request on your end.
For the full requirements, see the TikTok Shop Academy guide to Made-to-Order.
How do I set up a TikTok product as Made-to-Order?
Activation is required after publishing, for both new and previously published products. You can do this one product at a time or in bulk.
Step 1: Confirm Made-to-Order is enabled for your shop
- Log in to Seller Center.
- Go to the Fulfillment Performance page.
- Check that Made-to-order shows as activated.
If the option doesn't appear, your shop likely doesn't currently meet the eligibility requirements above.
Step 2: Activate Made-to-Order for a single product
- In Seller Center, click Products in the left-hand navigation.
- Select Manage products.
- Click Edit on the product you want to update.
- Under Variation list, click the expand arrow on the right-hand side.
- Under Options, select the Activate made-to-order checkbox.
- In the new Selling column, set your handling time (days to ship). The recommended default is 5 days.
- Return to the product listing and click Update in the top right to save.
Set a handling time that reflects your actual production needs rather than defaulting to the maximum 14 days. If you see products consistently shipping later than expected, adjust the handling time up.
Step 3: Activate Made-to-Order for multiple products in bulk
- Open your desktop Seller Center dashboard.
- Click Products, then select Manage products.
- Open the Bulk actions dropdown and choose Edit products.
- On the Download tab, under Step 1, select the products you want to update or check the box to select all.
- Under Step 2, select All Information.
- Click Generate template and download the product list.
- Open the spreadsheet, set your Made-to-Order handling times (5 days recommended), and save the file.
- Go back to the bulk edit section and upload the completed spreadsheet on the Upload tab.
- Submit the file. Updates typically process and pass review within 24 to 48 hours.
