Why shouldn’t I manually mark orders as “Fulfilled”?
If you manually change the order status to Fulfilled in Shopify, Printful won’t be able to update the order with tracking information. This means:
- Your customer won’t receive accurate shipping updates through Shopify’s notifications.
- Your Shopify order won’t include tracking details from Printful.
To ensure a smooth process, it’s best to let Printful handle order fulfillment updates.
How does it work?
Here’s what happens when you leave it to Printful:
- Printful fulfills the order → Shopify updates the status to Fulfilled automatically.
- Tracking information is sent to Shopify → Shopify can send a shipping notification to your customer (if you have this enabled).
