If you want to offer free shipping to your customers for Printful products on your Shopify store, there are two ways to do it: one for existing products and one for new products you add through Printful.
How to set up free shipping for existing products
For products already pushed to your Shopify store:
- Locate the product on Printful and click Edit.
- Enable the Free shipping on your storefront toggle.
The product should be switched to Printful’s free shipping profile on Shopify.
This method ensures that your existing products are covered by a free shipping rule.
How to set up free shipping for new products (during product push)
When adding new products through your Printful Dashboard, you can easily mark them to display as free shipping in Shopify.
- During the product push process, look for the Free shipping on your storefront toggle.
- Select this option before you submit the product to your Shopify store.
When enabled, Printful will assign the product to a Shopify shipping profile with $0 shipping costs.
Tip: Set free shipping as the default for all new products
If you want this setting to apply automatically for every new product you add:
- Go to Printful Dashboard → Settings → Store settings → Product push.
- Tick the box for Display my products with free shipping → Save.
With this enabled, all products you push to Shopify will have the free shipping option pre-selected by default.
How free shipping works with Printful’s shipping profiles
If you’re using Printful’s automatic flat rates, each shipping profile is assigned based on the product category (e.g., t-shirts, hoodies). To offer free shipping:
- Either reassign the product to Printful’s (or your own custom-made) free shipping profile in Shopify, or
- Use the Display with free shipping feature when pushing new products.
How does free shipping work with live rates?
If you’re using Printful live rates:
- With Printful’s live rates, free shipping can’t be applied to specific products only; it can either be enabled for all Printful products or none at all.
- You can create free shipping rules in Shopify to override Printful’s rates for specific products or orders (e.g., free shipping over $50).
- Assign these products to your custom profiles, not Printful’s profiles.
