Once you have created your Amazon seller account, the next important step is setting up shipping. Follow the steps below to set up shipping rates and “ships from” addresses on Amazon.
Shipping rates for Amazon orders
- Amazon only supports flat-rate shipping with Printful orders.
- It automatically applies default shipping rates based on industry standards for each product category. These defaults are typically accurate and convenient, so we recommend using them.
- If you need more control, you can create custom shipping templates (per item, weight band, or price-based) in Seller Central.
Setting up your “ship-from” location
It’s important to configure your shipping origin properly so that Amazon calculates transit times and delivery estimates correctly.
To add or edit your “ship-from” addresses:
- Go to Amazon Seller Central → Settings → Shipping Settings
- Under General Shipping Settings, click Edit next to shipping origin
- Add your warehouse or Printful shipping locations—you can have multiple if you ship from more than one address
Amazon uses these addresses to apply Shipping Settings Automation (SSA); this enhances delivery date accuracy by matching shipping origin, transit performance, and chosen carriers.
Good to know before starting
- Shipping templates: There’s always a default template assigned to your listings. If you prefer more control, for example, different shipping rules per region, you can create or customize additional templates.
- Transit & holiday settings: If you manually manage shipping templates (instead of relying on SSA), make sure you factor in weekend or holiday transit days to prevent overselling.
