If you’ve noticed that your order status shows “On Hold”, don’t worry - it simply means we need to check something with you before we can move forward. Whether it’s an issue with your print file, shipping address, or payment, putting your order on hold helps ensure everything is correct before fulfillment.
Why is my order on hold?
Orders are placed on hold to ensure everything is in order before printing and shipping. Common reasons include:
- Print file problems
- Incomplete or incorrect shipping address
- Security or payment concerns
How are holds removed?
Once you update your order, we’ll review the changes to make sure everything looks good. Then we’ll remove the hold and continue with fulfillment.
For minor issues, you may see a Remove hold button in your order view. This means you can lift the hold yourself without needing our team to review it first.
What should I do if my order is on hold?
- Open your email or go to Orders in your Printful Dashboard.
- Read the hold message to find out what needs attention.
- Depending on the issue:
- If changes are needed, make the updates by clicking Change order, then request hold removal. We’ll review and clear the hold if everything is correct.
- If there is no Change order button, reply to the original email with the changes you’d like to make.
- If no changes are needed, reply to the original email to let us know.
Note: You can’t request to proceed "as is" for all hold types. For example, holds related to print file content or security must be resolved according to our guidelines.
Once we’ve reviewed your update, we’ll either remove the hold or contact you if we need more details. If everything checks out, your order will be back on track in no time.
What happens if my order stays on hold for more than 30 days?
Orders on hold for more than 30 days are automatically canceled and refunded. You’ll receive the refund in your Printful Wallet. To withdraw the funds:
- Go to Printful Dashboard → Billing → Printful Wallet.
- Click Withdraw.
How can I reorder items from a canceled order?
To repurchase items from a canceled order:
- Go to Printful Dashboard → Orders and filter by Canceled.
- Find and open the order, and click Copy order.
- The order details will transfer to a new draft, where you can make changes and place the order again.
