Merchants shipping packaged goods to Germany must comply with German EPR regulations by submitting a valid LUCID registration number under their own business name. As of 12 August 2026, this applies even if Printful fulfills all of your orders. This means LUCID registration is an obligation for each business itself, and you can no longer submit Printful's LUCID number in place of your own.
What's the LUCID number, and who needs to submit it?
From August 12th, 2026, Germany requires all businesses that distribute packaged goods in the country to register with the Central Packaging Register (LUCID/Verpackungsregister) under their own name and declare their packaging volumes.
If your product comes packed for German customers, Amazon won't allow those listings to remain active unless a valid LUCID number is submitted to Amazon's compliance portal.

How to submit your LUCID ID in Amazon Seller Central
- Switch to the Amazon.de marketplace in Seller Central.
- Look for a banner instructing you to provide your LUCID number.
- Click Provide registration information to access Amazon's Compliance Portal.
- Choose the Germany section and enter your LUCID ID.
- Submit the number; Amazon will validate it, which may take up to five business days.
More information is also available on Amazon Seller Central here.
If you use other fulfillment providers in addition to Printful
Your own LUCID registration and reporting cover all your packaging, regardless of which provider fulfills a given order. If you use more than one fulfillment provider, make sure your reported packaging volumes account for all of them, not just Printful.
Common issues to watch for
If Amazon rejects your submission as "Invalid number," check that:
- You entered your own LUCID ID exactly, with no spaces or leading/trailing characters.
- Your seller account's business name and VAT information match what's registered in LUCID.
Even after submitting, your listings may be temporarily blocked until validation is complete.
